Historikk 2003-06-28

Verftet Rex Marin AB ble startet i 1976 av en tidligere formann ved Vindø verftet. De begynte snart med byggingen av Aphrodite båtene som var designet av Carl Beyer. Disse båtene ble snart kjent for gode seileegenskaper og høy finish.

Fra hjemmesida til verftet "Regina av Vindø Yachts AB" har jeg sakset dette:

"Today, the island of Vindön is a blooming nautical centre with several boat yards, where Regina af Vindö Yachts AB (former Rex Marin AB) represents the sailing boat building tradition.

Per-Ove Rexander, once a foreman at the Vindö-yard, started in 1976 his own production. The first boats to be built were Norlin 37 and Ansa 42. Thereafter the Aphrodite boats designed by Carl Beyer. They were soon famous for their excellent sailing qualities and their high finish. With 45 men employed it became one of the more important industries on Orust, with the boats being marketed worldwide.

Today, Regina af Vindö Yachts AB builds sailing boats for the most quality conscious customers, the Regina af Vindö 38, 43 and 49. Characteristic for the Regina af Vindö boats is the modern design by Carl Beyer combined with the exceptionally good craftsmanship, which produces a "Rolls Royce of the Seas". It is a boat for the fortunate few. This is not a boat in serial production, more a fulfilment of an individual dream".
